About the Role

Job Summary:

Implementing effective controls in an ETRM system like Endur requires a combination of technical, business, and analytical skills.

Required Skills and Experience:

1. Functional Expertise
Trade Lifecycle Knowledge: Deep understanding of the trade lifecycle, including deal capture, pricing, scheduling, risk management, settlement, and reporting, with a focus on gas and power commodities.
Risk Controls: Familiarity with the implementation of controls to manage operational, credit, and market risks. This includes validating trade limits, P&L validation, and position management.
Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of industry regulations (e.g., Dodd-Frank, MiFID II, REMIT) and the ability to implement controls to ensure compliance.
Audit and Governance: Experience in designing controls for internal and external audits, with proper documentation and adherence to governance policies.
2. Endur-Specific Skills
Configuration of Control Modules: Ability to configure Endur’s built-in controls, such as:
Limit Management: Setting trade, credit, and exposure limits.
Validation Rules: Defining pre- and post-trade validations to ensure compliance and mitigate errors.
Workflow Approvals: Setting up workflows for multi-level approval processes.
Segregation of Duties: Ensuring proper access controls within the system to prevent conflicts of interest.
Reporting Controls: Designing real-time and periodic reports to track compliance with control measures, including customizations for gas and power-specific metrics.
Integration Management: Ensuring robust interfaces between Endur and other systems (e.g., accounting, risk, and scheduling systems) for seamless control implementation.

3. Technical Skills
Scripting and Customization: Knowledge of Endur scripting tools (e.g., JVS, AVS, and Open Components) to design and implement custom control mechanisms.
Database Management: Proficiency in SQL for querying and managing data within Endur’s database.
Automation Tools: Experience with automation of workflows and controls to minimize manual intervention and reduce the risk of human error.
Data Validation: Expertise in ensuring data integrity across integrated systems and during system upgrades or migrations.

4. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
Root Cause Analysis: Ability to identify gaps in existing controls and propose solutions to address those gaps effectively.
Business Process Optimization: Experience in analyzing trading processes and designing controls to improve efficiency and reduce risks.
Scenario Testing: Designing and executing test scenarios to validate the effectiveness of implemented controls under various conditions.

5. Soft Skills
Stakeholder Management: Collaborating with traders, risk managers, IT teams, and compliance officers to define and implement controls aligned with business needs.
Documentation and Training: Creating clear documentation for control procedures and conducting training sessions for end-users.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in designing, implementing, and monitoring controls to avoid errors or breaches.

Requirements

Skills | Must-Haves:


* 5+ years of professional experience


* experience with Endur scripting tools (JVS, AVS, and Open Components) to design and implement custom control mechanisms


* SQL experience


* advanced experience with automation tools


* expertise ensuring data integrity across integrated systems and during system upgrades and/or migrations



Nice to Have Skills:


* Bachelor's degree or above


* Endur V16 or above experience


* candidate currently lives in Houston, Texas area



Company | Job Insights:


* 1 opening


* 6-month contract with potential extension


* onsite 5 days/week in Houston is the preference -- willing to consider candidates that can work in a hybrid capacity or travel to Houston (paid for by Publicis)
